The monogram for The AgEcon Frontiers (TAEF) is a beautiful symbol rooted in historical and cultural significance. Designed from an original painting by young artist Maryam Khalid, the monogram draws inspiration from the Tree of Al Buqayawiyya, also known as The Blessed Tree. This ancient tree, located in Safawi, Jordan, holds a special place in Islamic history. Over 1,500 years old, it stands on the historic trade route between Mecca and Damascus, a path once traveled by merchants and caravans.

According to tradition, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) rested beneath this tree’s shade at the age of 12 while on a journey to Syria with his uncle, Abu Talib. Under the shade of the Blessed Tree, the monk Bahira is believed to have prophesied Muhammad's future as a prophet. This remarkable tree, an Atlantic Pistachio, symbolizes resilience, knowledge, and spiritual significance.

In TAEF Publishers' monogram, the Blessed Tree serves as a powerful emblem, representing a deep-rooted commitment to knowledge, growth, and the spread of ideas that stand the test of time.
